A few of my colleagues and I recently attended another of the Franklin/Covey workshops – The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Signature Workshop. Our attendance to this workshop was on 24-OCT-2007 through 26-OCT-2007. Our team has collectively been involved with several seminars and workshops for professional and personal improvement. We know the value of Tools for Growth and use them regularly. This is highly encouraged by our company and our management, hence we look forward to these events.
Our recent participation in the 7 Habits workshop was a most impressive and awesome experience for all of us (Margarita Escobar, Sandy Uzcátegui, and myself – Felix Ruiz). The principals, tools, and concepts in and of themselves are life changing and each of us have already reaped the benefits of using them. As with any tool or opportunity of this nature, there are three primary ingredients that must be present in order for the full benefits to be reaped from the participants:
1) The attitude of the participant(s)
2) The “value added” impact of what is being presented
3) The effectiveness of the presenter
As already mentioned above, items 1 and 2 were very much present and effective during the Workshop opportunity. But the most effective tool for learning during the workshop was the facilitator’s combined energy, enthusiasm, knowledge, experience, and handling of all situations that arose during our attendance. My colleagues and I would like to acknowledge Kristin MacKey as one of the most effective and memorable facilitators we have had the pleasure to participate with.
